EFF leader Julius Malema has argued that the government should take on the role of a provider for young women to prevent them from seeking financial support from older men, commonly referred to as sugar daddies.

I do not want young children and girls who go and sleep with Sibiya because they want money sugar daddies, government must be your sugar daddy, no man must be your sugar daddy we must support you.

Malema stated that the state needs to increase social grants and provide additional support, such as free water and electricity, to ensure citizens are looked after. He suggested that funding for these increases could be sourced by reducing the size of the cabinet, specifically by cutting down on the number of deputy ministers, whom he described as useless and overpaid.

We have to cut down deputy ministers they are useless…they are paid millions per year for doing nothing, they are useless even their own party members do not know who are these deputy ministers.

The EFF leader also emphasized the need for a graduate allowance to support unemployed youth, arguing that such measures are necessary to address social ills and provide financial stability for vulnerable groups.
