Gomora chairman: ‘We are not selling the club’

Gomora United chairman Joe Seanego has explained the news coming from the club’s camp regarding its future, including the negotiations with a potential buyer.

The club is undergoing changes both in the playing personnel and in the coaching staff.

“We are not selling the club; there were some negotiations, yes, and there was some interest, but the club is not for sale. Actually, no shares were sold. What happened is we were looking for sponsorship, and the guy we approached happened to be also interested in buying shares in the team,” Seanego tells KickOff.

“He wanted to buy shares, and yes, we did sit down with him. He made a good offer, and we said, ‘ It’s fine, we will look at that. So he didn’t want to buy the club; he wanted to invest by buying shares. We told him the club is not on sale, and it will never be on sale.

“We didn’t turn him down; we just gave him our proposal. It was just the first engagement, some sort of an enquiry.”

Gomora United, who last season failed to win even a single away game, managed to avoid relegation in the 2025/2026 campaign, which was their first in the professional ranks, following their promotion from the Gauteng ABC Motsepe League.
