Find out how MySol fired back at Malema after EFF rally jibe
Mining magnate Solomon “MySol” Madibela has hit back at EFF leader Julius Malema following a public attack during an EFF rally in the North West.
Malema o ngwana bo
The mining tycoon, who has publicly stated he does not use social media, turned to WhatsApp status updates to respond to Malema’s comments. He requested his contacts to screenshot and circulate his message, which loosely translates to a claim that Malema is the one acting like a “boy” and that the EFF leader needs to focus on his own strength.
The feud began after Malema addressed a crowd at Letlhabile Stadium, where he labeled Madibela a “small boy” and insisted that mining wealth in the region should benefit local communities rather than individual entrepreneurs. Malema stated, “There’s no MySol who will enjoy mining money alone,” and added, “MySol se foot. You must tell him that he’s a small boy to me.”
The exchange has sparked a fierce debate on social media, with supporters of the EFF leader praising his stance on economic redistribution, while others view the comments as populist intimidation against a self-made black entrepreneur. ANC secretary-general Fikile Mbalula has since promised to intervene in the dispute, describing Madibela as a “solid entrepreneur” and calling for an amicable resolution.
