Sekhukhune United began life under Papi Zothwane with a goalless draw against TS Galaxy in Betway Premiership action on Saturday evening.

The hosts began life without coach Cedric Kaze, who parted ways with the club earlier this week as Papi Zothwane was put in charge of the first team, as they looked to end a run of three straight losses to Orlando Pirates in all competitions.
The openings stages proved to be a cagey affair despite both sides looking to get back on the winning trail, with chances hard to come by in the respective 18-yard areas in the opening 20 minutes.
The encounter began to open up around the 30-minute mark as Tshepo Mokoane went close to opening the scoring for Sekhukhune with a powerful strike that sailed inches wide of Galaxy goalkeeper Ira Tape’s upright.
Galaxy had chances of their own as the first half went on, as Sedwyn George passed up a golden chance by heading wide of the upright from close-range, while the half’s biggest chance fell to Mpho Mvelase, who was left one-on-one with goalkeeper Melusi Buthulezi but ended up sending his strike well wide of the upright.
Zothwane came out for the second half and immediately made two changes for Sekhukhune as Mcedi Vandala and Oageng Phiri made way for Simon Ramabu and Lehlogonolo Mojela to freshen up the attack for the second 45 minutes.
However, it was Galaxy who almost got the breakthrough after the hour mark when Edson Khumalo did well to pick out Mlondi Mncwango, who controlled in the box before firing wide of the upright as the frustration began to grow.
That proved to be the trend for most of the contest as both sides let themselves down in the final third for the remainder of the contest, with Sekhukhune’s Ohizu going closest with a headed effort that sailed straight at Tape.
Buthelezi walks away with another clean sheet to his name, making three shut-outs in four league games for Sekhukhune this campaign.
The shot-stopper did not make a single league appearance for Orlando Pirates last season, but he is now in the running for the Golden Glove with Sipho Chaine, who has four clean sheets this term.
