EFF brushes off Malema’s NPA charges, hits out at AfriForum for ‘weaponising’ justice system
The charge of crimen injuria brought against EFF leader Julius Malema does not “faze” the party, it said on Wednesday, as it hit back at AfriForum for what it described as the “weaponisation” of the justice system.
The EFF remains unfazed by these desperate attempts to use the National Prosecuting Authority (NPA) as a tool for political persecution. AfriForum continues to demonstrate its obsession with the EFF and its leadership, seeking to weaponise the justice system to settle political scores.
The party stated that it views the latest legal developments as part of a broader, coordinated effort by AfriForum to undermine the EFF’s political influence. The EFF maintained that such actions are a distraction from the real issues facing the country and that they will continue to focus on their mandate to represent the interests of the marginalised.
The organisation further accused AfriForum of acting in bad faith, arguing that the legal challenges are not rooted in a genuine pursuit of justice but are instead designed to harass and intimidate political opponents. The EFF concluded by reaffirming its commitment to its political programme, stating that no amount of legal pressure would deter them from their objectives.
