South African star Puso Dithejane seems to be making his mark in Major League Soccer, with the attacker joining Robert Lewandowski on the scoresheet in a Chicago Fire FC victory.

The 22-year-old continued his impressive rise in the United States after finding the back of the net alongside superstar forward Lewandowski to guide the Fire to a 2-1 victory over Orlando City SC on Wednesday evening.
The result marked a historic sixth consecutive win across all competitions for the Men in Red – their longest winning streak since 1998.
Across all competitions, the South African has scored three goals in his last three matches, recording both goals in the Leagues Cup 2026 victory over Cruz Azul earlier this month.
Dithejane got the visitors off to a flying start in just the fourth minute.
Following a loose defensive clearance, debutant midfielder David Poreba seized control and picked out the South African winger.
The former TS Galaxy star took a touch, turned his marker, and unleashed an effort that struck the far post before nestling into the back of the net, giving Chicago an early lead with his second league goal of the campaign.
Despite Orlando pulling level shortly after a weather-delayed halftime through a David Brekalo header, Chicago regained control.
The decisive moment came after the hour mark when Lewandowski drew a foul inside the penalty area.
Following a VAR review that upheld the referee’s decision, the Polish striker calmly slotted his spot-kick past MLS All-Star goalkeeper Maxime Crepeau to seal all three points and hand Chicago their 11th win of the regular season.
Next up for Dithejane and Chicago Fire is an away clash against Red Bull New York on Saturday, August 22.
