Chiefs versus Downs ticketing update

Kaizer Chiefs’ league encounter against Mamelodi Sundowns on Saturday at FNB Stadium has swallowed a third of the tickets available with a near-capacity crowd expected.
While FNB Stadium can accommodate approximately 94 000, the crowd expected will be upwards of two-thirds of the stadium’s capacity.
Just over a third of the stadium seats’ tickets had already been sold on Thursday morning, a day after Chiefs played at the same venue.
It is expected that ticket sales will double through late Thursday into Friday.
This will be the first afternoon kick-off match between the two clubs played at FNB Stadium since September 2014.
“I’m confident that we will have a close-to-capacity crowd, and I hope that the weather is better,” says Bertie Grobbelaar, the Stadium Management SA boss, while indicating that just over 32 00 tickets have been sold.
His chorus was on the need to cut down traffic around the stadium, which is why free alternative parking has been provided at Johannesburg Stadium.

There will be 800 parking bays provided around the stadium precinct at R80, while there will be Gautrain and Rea Vaya packages.
The security company contracted by SMSA has been changed to avoid all issues that usually accompany capacity-crowd fixtures.
