Kaizer Chiefs defender Inacio Miguel has revealed why Amakhosi were out for ‘revenge’ when they took on Sekhukhune United in a Betway Premiership clash on Wednesday.
Chiefs defender Inacio Miguel has revealed that the Soweto giants were fueled by a burning desire for revenge ahead of their midweek league triumph over Sekhukhune United.
The Angolan international admitted that the pressure was immense following a period of intense scrutiny, making the response against Babina Noko non-negotiable for the Glamour Boys.

Amakhosi successfully redeemed themselves by defeating Sekhukhune United 2-0 in a crucial Betway Premiership fixture at the FNB Stadium on Wednesday, 12 August 2026.
“It was not an easy game, especially coming from a defeat in the MTN8,” Miguel told journalists at the club’s media press conference on Thursday.
“But I think we prepared well for the game. I think everyone knows that after a defeat playing for such a big club like Kaizer Chiefs, there is no other answer than going forward and looking for revenge, no matter which team it is.
“So I think we dealt well with that; the team was fully focused on that. We played a nice game.
“Obviously I think there are a lot of things we could have done better, but as I always say, it’s a process.”
This vital maximum-points haul came as a perfect antidote following their shock exit from the MTN8 tournament, where they suffered a disappointing quarter-final elimination at the hands of Lamontville Golden Arrows.
The victory has propelled Kaizer Chiefs straight to the summit of the early league standings, occupying first place with a perfect record after two matches.
The Naturena-based outfit will now look to carry this newfound momentum into their next highly anticipated blockbuster encounter against rivals Mamelodi Sundowns.
