Botswana international keeper Goitseone Phoko is negotiating his exit from Siwelele FC, just four months into his two-year contract.

The 31-year-old has been with Siwelele since June, when Soccer Laduma confirmed the deal.

This publication has been reliably informed that Phoko is on his way out, and our source has explained why the sudden exit.

“He was signed by Lehlohonolo Seema, so when Seema left his position (as head coach), it made things difficult for Phoko. It’s over for him there,” said our informant.

It all started well for Phoko at Siwelele. He played the first three league games, but after conceding five goals, he never played again.

His appearances all came in August in the 2-2 draw with TS Galaxy, a 1-0 defeat to Milford, and a 2-0 loss to AmaZulu.

Soccer Laduma tried in vain to get the two parties’ side of the story but received no response.

The parting of ways has been described as “mutual”, with an official announcement set to follow.
