Beganovic Closing In On Return With PSL Club

Former TS Galaxy head coach Adnan Beganovic is closing in on a deal to become the new head coach of Richards Bay, the Siya crew understands.
The Natal Rich Boyz are weighing up a change in the dugout following a difficult start to the 2026/27 Betway Premiership campaign, with Ronnie Gabriel under increasing pressure after the club’s latest result.
Siya sources have indicated that Beganovic has emerged as a leading candidate for the Richards Bay job, with negotiations between the two parties understood to be at an advanced stage.
“Negotiations are at an advanced stage,” a source told the Siya crew.
While a final agreement is still being worked towards, indications are that Beganovic could soon take charge of the KwaZulu-Natal outfit, with discussions around a contract understood to be ongoing.
Beganovic would return to Mzansi’s topflight just months after parting ways with TS Galaxy.
The 43-year-old coach and Galaxy mutually parted ways in April following a difficult run of league results.
Interestingly, Galaxy’s struggles in the league came despite a strong Nedbank Cup campaign, with the mentor having guided the side to the final at the time of his departure. The team eventually lost the final under Bernard Parker against Durban City.
Meanwhile, Richards Bay have endured a difficult opening to the 2026/27 season, remaining without a win after six league matches.
They have drawn three and lost three, leaving them with just three points from a possible 18 and sitting 14th on the log.

The pressure on Gabriel intensified after Sunday’s heavy 5-1 defeat to newly promoted Milford FC, a result which has prompted the club to look at possible alternatives in the dugout.
The Siya crew understands that Beganovic is among the coaches being considered, with talks having progressed significantly.
