Golden Arrows head coach Pitso Dladla has provided an update regarding the availability of Zimbabwean international Jonah Fabisch, who joined the club during the off-season.

Fabisch was among the players signed by Arrows in July, linking up with Abafana Bes’thende as a free agent after parting ways with German side Erzgebirge Aue. The midfielder has been touted as a replacement for Isaac Cisse, who has since secured a move to Belgium.

Dladla confirmed that the 24-year-old is currently sidelined with a minor injury but remains hopeful of a swift recovery.

“Ja, for now he is with our medical team. He sustained a minor injury at training, so they are working on him,” Dladla said after the second leg of their MTN8 semi-final against Mamelodi Sundowns at King Zwelithini Stadium on Sunday.

Arrows now switch focus to the Betway Premiership after being booted out of the MTN8. They lost 3-2 to Miguel Cardoso’s charges on Sunday, drawing the tie 3-3 on aggregate but losing out on the away goals rule.

The Durban-based outfit will again host the Tshwane giants in a league encounter on Saturday — a fixture Dladla will be hoping Fabisch can recover in time for, as Arrows look to bounce back from their cup heartbreak.
