The victory capped a perfect campaign for Amajita, who won all five of their matches on their way to lifting the trophy.
Five South African players were named in the 2026 Best XI, highlighting the quality within the team, while Mdaka was named Coach of the Tournament.
Goalkeeper Takalani Mazhamba was selected alongside fellow Kaizer Chiefs players Egan Freese and Steven Mendes, while Lazola Maku and Cape Town City midfielder Cayden Fortune also earned places in the prestigious XI.
Maku was named captain of the Best XI following his influential performances throughout the tournament.
Mdaka’s recognition as Coach of the Tournament completes a memorable campaign for the South African U20 side, who will now turn their attention to the CAF U20 Africa Cup of Nations finals in Ghana next year.
The tournament will provide another opportunity for the young players to test themselves on a bigger continental stage.
