E-HAILING DRIVER RESCUED AFTER KIDNAPPING AND RAPE:

Steenberg WC police rescued a 25-year-old e-hailing driver after he was allegedly kidnapped, held for ransom and raped by two women and three men in Heathfield.

The suspects allegedly demanded R4,000 from the victim’s brother for his release.

Police tracked the victim using his vehicle tracker and found him in Southampton Road.

The victim had reportedly met one of the female suspects through his e-hailing business and arranged to meet her before the alleged kidnapping.

Five suspects,
two women aged 23 and 34, and three men aged 16, 42 and 48 were arrested. They are expected to appear in the Wynberg Magistrate’s Court on Monday, 14 September 2026.
