Zothwane starts Sekhukhune reign with a point

Sekhukhune United moved back into the top eight in the Betway Premiership after grinding out a goalless draw against TS Galaxy at the Old Peter Mokaba Stadium on Saturday evening.
Following three successive defeats to Orlando Pirates in the MTN8 and Premiership, the host came looking for redemption as the Rockets looked to build momentum from their win over Marumo Gallants to continue climbing up the table.
Galaxy came with their tails up and were on the charge early on when Sedwyn George made a strong leap in the box to get onto a cross and headed wide of the far corner.
The home team steadily probed a look in following a balanced opening spell and carved out out an opening of their own when Mcedisi Vandala snapped a cutback from D’Angelo Kazeema across the face of goal.
The Rockets finished the first brightly after an unforced error in midfield found Mpho Mvelase who played a one-two to get onto the reverse pass to head clean through, but he sent his effor twide of the mark with the goal inviting.
Babina Noko, who just parted way with coach Cedric Kaze, made a double substitution at the start of the second half, with Simon Ramabu coming in for Vandala before Bradley Mojela replaced Oageng Phiri.
After a quiet start to the second half, the Rockets went close to breaking the deadlock with a snap-shot by Mlondi Mncwango from a corner-kick but the defender snapped at the effort and fired wide of the target.
Galaxy continued to play from the front and provided another scare when Victor Letsoalo fired narrowly past the near corner after he managed to get onto a delivery to the back-post.
The home team enjoyed momentum in the final seconds with a point-blank header in the area from substitute Chibuike Ohizu, but the Rockets held their nerve and collected a valuable point on the road.
