Dithejane Rescues Chicago, Mbule Suffers Big Loss

Puso Dithejane came off the bench to good effect and helped Chicago Fire rescue a 2-2 draw on Saturday night.

The South African winger was introduced in the 63rd minute and made the desired impact by setting up Robert Lewandowski’s for the team’s equaliser on 82 minutes.

Dithejane and Fire will now turn their attention to next weekend’s trip to Canada to face Toronto FC.

Sipho Mbule’s Zakho SC had a night to forget after suffering a 4-0 loss at the hands of Al-Zawraa on Saturday.

The former Orlando Pirates midfielder made yet another start for the Iraqi side, but was unable to help his side avoid a big defeat.

Shandre Campbell bagged his first goal of the season for KV Kortrijk, who suffered a 3-1 loss to Charleroi on Saturday afternoon.

Eric Tinkler enjoyed a winning start to life at Asante Kotoko, who defeated rivals Hearts of Oak in the 2026 Democracy Cup.

After winning a first trophy, Tinkler’s side will begin their league campaign next weekend against Debibi United.
