Two People Arrested Over Killing Of South African Boxing Champion Zolani Tete
Two people, aged 30 and 22, have been arrested in connection with the shooting and killing of boxing champion Zolani Tete in NU17, Mdantsane, on 21 August 2026.
The pair were arrested in Gompo on Saturday, 22 August, following an investigation involving several law-enforcement units.
Tete was allegedly shot and killed, while a 27-year-old woman who was travelling with him was also shot and wounded. The suspects are being investigated for Tete’s murder and the attempted murder of the woman.
Police say the investigation is still ongoing and that more arrests could follow
