Parker caught up in ‘tied hands’ situation at Galaxy

The registration ban on TS Galaxy has left Bernard Parker’s selection options limited after adopting the challenges faced by his predecessor Adnan Beganovic at the beginning of last season.
Galaxy have started the new season without a win in the two league games that they have played.

They drew 2-2 away at Siwelele FC and then surrendered the lead to end up as losers against Mamelodi Sundowns in midweek.
The unavailability of all the new players that the club announced almost a month ago has left Parker restricted in his choices, forcing him to make positional changes.
None of Sifiso Ngobeni, Zuko Gxabusa, Edson Khumalo, Camagu Mdevulana, Mpho Maoke, Anslin William, Simthandile Sishi, Bongani van den Heede, Lennol Mathebula, Azola Jakalashe, Thabelo Tshikweta, Katekane Mhlongo, Nhlakanipho Ngwenya, and Siphesihle Tati have been eligible to play to date.
This has been due to the FIFA registration ban, which has been active since February 27, 2026.
It will remain in place until it is lifted, which entails Galaxy having to comply with the world governing body’s orders.
The temporary new player registration prohibition has been noted as being related to a regulatory breach aligned to the FIFA Clearing House.
As of Thursday, the ban was still on, leaving Parker scratching his head after referencing how limitations on the bench cost them the points against Sundowns on Tuesday.
Galaxy play their third match of the season on Sunday against Golden Arrows at Solomon Mahlangu Stadium.
Last season, Beganovic started the new season without all the new signings, who included Veluyeke Zulu, Sedwyn George, Ntandoyenkosi Nkosi, Anslin William, Mzwandile Dlamini, Siyabonga Nguessan, and Onke Moletshe due to transfer ban-related issues.
