‘You are a small boy’: Malema fires warning at mining tycoon MySol
EFF leader Julius Malema has taken a verbal swipe at local mining businessman Solomon “MySol” Madibela during a party rally in Madibeng, North West, on Friday night.
Addressing a large crowd at Letlhabile Stadium, Malema described Madibela as a “small boy” and challenged the businessman, declaring: “I am not scared of boys who think they have got money… He must go around and ask about me… I’ll put you in your place.”
There’s no MySol who will enjoy mining money alone.
Malema accused the businessman of benefiting at the expense of local communities, stating: “These mines will service our people… These mines will not service MySol. MySol se foot. I will repeat, MySol se foot. You must tell him that he’s a small boy to me.”
The dispute intensified after screenshots of WhatsApp statuses allegedly posted by Madibela circulated on social media, which reportedly called Malema a “small boy” and mocked his appearance. Madibela has maintained that he is politically unaffiliated.
ANC secretary-general Fikile Mbalula has since promised to intervene in the feud, pledging to contact Malema to understand the dispute and seek an amicable resolution, while defending Madibela as a “solid entrepreneur.”
