ANC secretary-general Fikile Mbalula has come to the defence of North West mining tycoon Solomon “MySol” Madibela, stepping into a heated public feud between the businessman and EFF leader Julius Malema.

The conflict, which has escalated into a personal war of words, centers on the control and operation of mines in the region. Malema has been vocal in his criticism, accusing the tycoon of failing to serve local communities.

These mines will service our people… These mines will not service MySol. MySol se foot. I will repeat, MySol se foot. You must tell him that he’s a small boy to me.

Malema further challenged the businessman, stating he was not intimidated by those who believe they hold power. In response to the escalating rhetoric, Mbalula has indicated he will intervene to defuse the situation, describing Madibela as a solid entrepreneur and calling for calm between the two parties.
