ActionSA wants another shot to govern Tshwane, citing Nasiphi Moya’s successful tenure
ActionSA wants another opportunity to govern the capital city, pointing to what it believes has been Nasiphi Moya’s successful tenure.
Moya has served as Tshwane Mayor for nearly two years under a coalition involving the African National Congress (ANC), ActionSA and the Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF).
Speaking during 702’s mayoral debate in Mamelodi on Thursday morning, ActionSA claimed it inherited a financially unstable city from the previous administration, which it led alongside the Democratic Alliance.
When we took office, Tshwane endured consecutive years of unfunded budgets and we have carried more than R3 billion in debt, including approximately R6 billion owed to Eskom. Our infrastructure was failing and the residents of Tshwane were losing hope when it comes to the municipality.
However, the DA’s mayoral candidate, Cilliers Brink, has pointed to the ongoing water contamination crisis in Bronkhorstspruit as evidence that Moya’s tenure has not been as rosy as ActionSA claims.
Let’s talk about the Bronkhorstspruit water crisis. It is said that Mayor Nasiphi Moya is seized with a governance crisis, and that’s why she is not at that debate. She caused that governance crisis. She doesn’t even have the courage to face her people and opponents to explain what has happened.
The ANC, on the other hand, has pledged to address the issue of crime in the capital.
