Cash In Transit Robber Shot Dead By Security

Following a SaferCity alert received regarding a shooting at a shopping centre in Benoni, Blue Hawk Tactical members immediately responded to the scene.
On arrival, it was established that an attempted cross-pavement Cash-in-Transit (CIT) robbery had occurred. During the incident, an armed CIT officer discharged his firearm, striking the suspect as he attempted to flee.
The suspect entered a nearby lake while attempting to evade capture and was later declared deceased by paramedics.
The stolen cash box was recovered at the scene, and the suspect’s alleged getaway vehicle was located within the shopping centre parking area.
The scene was processed by SAPS and forensic teams before the investigation continued.
