MAN (60) KILLED DURING ALLEGED HIJACKING IN MOLETJIE
Police in Seshego, Limpopo, are investigating the murder of a 60-year-old man who was fatally shot during an alleged hijacking at Ga-Matlou Village, Moletjie, outside Polokwane, on Saturday evening.
The victim was travelling with his son in a Hyundai H1 when they stopped to assist a couple who were hitchhiking.
An armed suspect allegedly approached, opened the driver’s door and fired several shots.
The son escaped unharmed, while the suspect hijacked the vehicle.
The vehicle was later recovered after the suspect allegedly crashed it in a nearby village before fleeing on foot.
The 60-year-old victim was found nearby with multiple gunshot wounds and was declared dead at the scene.
Police have appealed to the public for information that could help identify and arrest the suspect.
