23-Year-Old Used Fake Payslip to Finance R2 Million Ford Raptor

According to police, a 23-year-old man allegedly used a fake payslip and forged bank statements to convince a dealership or finance provider that he qualified for vehicle finance. Based on those documents, he was able to obtain a Ford Raptor valued at around R2 million.

The alleged fraud came to light after the first monthly instalment was not paid. This prompted further checks, during which the financial documents were allegedly found to be fraudulent.

The man has since appeared in the Newcastle Magistrate’s Court, where he was granted R20,000 bail. The case has been postponed while police continue their investigation
