Mpumalanga police shootout leaves wanted suspect dead:

A suspect who was among Mpumalanga’s most wanted has been fatally wounded in a shootout with police in Mayflower.

Police acted on information that the suspect, wanted for several serious and violent crimes including murder, attempted murder and business robbery, was at a tavern in Glenmore. When officers entered the premises, the suspect allegedly opened fire, prompting a shootout.

The suspect was killed during the exchange, and police recovered a firearm with its serial numbers filed off, believed to have been used in the attack.

Authorities say the suspect was linked to multiple violent crimes across Mpumalanga and had been on the police’s wanted list.
