The Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) celebrated their 13th anniversary with a major rally at Thohoyandou Stadium in Limpopo, which also served as the launch of the party’s manifesto for the 2026 local government elections.

During the event, party leader Julius Malema addressed thousands of supporters, emphasizing the party’s readiness to govern and highlighting their track record in coalition governments. Malema used the occasion to announce key mayoral candidates for South Africa’s metros, positioning them as leaders capable of driving service delivery and accountability.

Where the EFF is in government, we have proven that political conviction alone cannot fix infrastructure or rebuild institutions. Accountability and being of service to the people is what matters.

The event saw a notable moment when an ANC helicopter flew over the stadium. Malema seized the opportunity to address the crowd, incorporating the incident into his speech to rally supporters and contrast the EFF’s presence with that of the ruling party.
