Cyril Ramaphosa praises Siya Kolisi and Temba Bavuma in GBV address

President Cyril Ramaphosa has called on the men of South Africa to take a stand against gender-based violence, using the country’s sporting heroes as examples of the leadership required to change societal attitudes.

It is time for good men to stop being silent men. We look to leaders in our society, like Siya Kolisi and Temba Bavuma, who have shown that true strength lies in respect, integrity, and standing up for what is right.

The President emphasized that the fight against gender-based violence cannot be won by the state alone and requires a fundamental shift in how men interact with and treat women in their daily lives.
