Ramaphosa heads to eThekwini as ANC battles to win back metro
President Cyril Ramaphosa is expected to visit the eThekwini Metropolitan Municipality as the African National Congress (ANC) intensifies its efforts to regain full control of the metro ahead of the upcoming local government elections.
The ANC, which has faced significant challenges in maintaining its dominance in the region, is looking to consolidate its support base in what is considered a critical battleground for the party.
The ANC on the 4th of November will win the elections in eThekwini, we’ve prepared ourselves in every way possible in the structures from voting districts, to cells to branches, we will win on the 4th of November.
Despite the party’s optimism, recent polling and the emergence of new political forces have complicated the landscape, with the ANC facing stiff competition from opposition parties and new entrants in the political arena.
The visit by the President is seen as a strategic move to boost morale among party structures and reassure voters of the ANC’s commitment to addressing service delivery issues and improving governance in the metro.
