Cyril Ramaphosa grants Madlanga Commission final deadline extension
President Cyril Ramaphosa has extended the deadline for the Madlanga Commission of Inquiry to submit its final report to 25 January 2027.
The Commission had previously been given until 16 November 2026 to complete its work and submit the report. The Presidency announced the latest extension on Saturday, 19 September.
The additional time will allow the Commission to process further evidence, including testimony from experts who have made recommendations relevant to its terms of reference.
The Presidency described the latest extension as the final extension.
Madlanga Commission welcomes extension
The Madlanga Commission has welcomed the additional time, saying it will allow it to hear outstanding testimony and complete its final report.
