Breaking: Diesel tanker Explosion Leaves Scores dead in
One person has lost their life and another has been injured following a serious collision involving a diesel tanker and a light motor vehicle on the R59 between Sasolburg and Parys on Tuesday morning.
The crash occurred approximately 10km outside Sasolburg towards Parys and resulted in the diesel tanker catching fire, prompting a large emergency response.
Emergency services rushed to the scene, contained the blaze, and attended to the occupants of the light motor vehicle.
Sadly, one occupant was declared deceased at the scene. A second occupant sustained injuries and was treated before being transported to hospital for further medical care.
The truck driver reportedly managed to escape the burning tanker without injury.
