Orlando Pirates are expected to decide on the future of Sifiso Luthuli, with interest beginning to emerge from several clubs as head coach Abdeslam Ouaddou continues to assess his squad.

The Siya crew has established that Siwelele FC, Marumo Gallants, Magesi FC and Orbit College are among the clubs showing an interest in the 25-year-old forward, should Pirates make him available for a move.

Luthuli’s future has been a talking point since the arrival of Norwegian striker Sebastian Pedersen, with Pirates having previously been expected to assess the forward during pre-season following his encouraging loan spell at Magesi last season.

However, the situation remains unresolved, with indications that Pirates are yet to finalise their plans for Luthuli and potentially several other players as Ouaddou looks to work with a manageable squad.

The French-Moroccan coach has already had a large group of players at his disposal, and with Pirates competing on multiple fronts in the 2026/27 campaign, decisions are being made around which players will form part of the core group for the season.

So far, Luthuli has not featured in any of Pirates’ matchday squads since the start of the 2026/27 season, further fuelling uncertainty over his immediate future.

As previously reported by the Siya crew, another loan move was being considered for the former Magesi attacker, particularly after he showed promising signs during his spell with the Limpopo outfit in the second half of last season.

Luthuli scored once and provided three assists in 11 Betway Premiership appearances for Magesi, before also featuring in the PSL promotion/relegation playoffs.

He has previously spent time on loan at Pretoria Callies and Magesi after coming through Pirates’ development structures, and another temporary move could provide him with the regular first-team football that may prove difficult to secure at the Buccaneers.

With interest now coming from multiple clubs, the next move could depend on Pirates’ final assessment of Luthuli and whether Ouaddou believes he has a role to play in his plans for the season.

For now, no final decision has been made, but with enquiries already being made, Luthuli’s Pirates future could soon become clearer.
