Dagga worth around R1.5m discovered in hydroponic lab near Vereeniging – LNN – Network News
Gauteng police have nabbed a 22-year-old suspect in Hartzenbergfontein after discovering a hydroponic dagga laboratory with cannabis estimated to have a street value of R1.5m, reports Sedibeng Ster.
The discovery follows a multi-disciplinary, intelligence-driven operation by members of Gauteng Counter-Intelligence Narcotics, Gauteng Organised Crime, West Rand K9, the Forensic Science Laboratory, and private security companies.
Police spokesperson Constable Mampho Mahlomola says the man is facing charges relating to the contravention of the Drug Trafficking Act 140 of 1992 and Immigration Act 13 of 2002.
“The suspect is expected to appear before the Vereeniging Magistrate’s Court soon. Police investigations are ongoing,” Mahlomola concludes.
