Ex-Chiefs Winger Settles Well In Egypt

New Petrojet signing Kgaogelo Sekgota has settled in well at the club since arriving there over a week ago.
The 29-year-old has penned a two-year deal with Petrojet, who are based in Suez, located about 130 kilometres east of the capital city, Cairo.
According to Sekgota’s agent, Andrew Matjila, the player is excited about the move.
“We had several options for KG, both locally and abroad, and Petrojet ultimately felt like the right project for him at this stage of his career,” Matjila told Soccer Laduma.
“He’s happy with the move and has been very well received by the club. He’s settling in, getting to know Egypt and embracing the experience, while looking forward to the opportunity ahead,” he said.
“He’s excited about what lies ahead and is focused on giving his best for Petrojet.”
Sekgota played for Siwelele FC in the past season. Locally, he also featured for Kaizer Chiefs and Stellenbosch, among his previous employers.

Meanwhile, the Egyptian Premier League 2026-27 season kicked off on Friday, 21 August.
Petrojet were due to host Asyut on Saturday in their first match of the campaign.
