SA Biggest Boy Caught With Drugs At Or Tambo
SAPS has arrested a 54-year-old South African man suspected of being a drug mule at OR Tambo International Airport on Thursday morning.
The suspect was reportedly travelling to Hong Kong, China, when intelligence-led police operations led to his interception. A search of his luggage uncovered suspected cocaine concealed inside.
The weight and value of the drugs have not yet been determined.
The suspect is expected to appear in the Kempton Park Magistrates’ Court on Friday, 4 September, facing drug-trafficking-related charges.
The arrest comes just a week after police seized two separate cocaine consignments worth an estimated R200 million at the same airport.
SAPS says it remains focused on disrupting drug-trafficking networks through intelligence-driven operations at ports of entry.
