MAN SHOT THREE TIMES DURING HOUSE ROBBERY IN OAKFORD

A man believed to be in his 40s was shot three times during a house robbery at an informal settlement on Oakford Road, Oakford, KwaZulu-Natal, in the early hours of Saturday morning.

According to Reaction Unit South Africa (RUSA), officers were called to the scene at around 00:20 after residents reported a robbery and shooting.

Three suspects allegedly entered the home, with two reportedly armed with firearms. They held the occupants at gunpoint and stole a television, alcohol, R300 in cash and a cellphone.

As the suspects were leaving, they allegedly shot the older man in the thigh, left rib area and shoulder.
A 22-year-old man was also assaulted and sustained facial injuries. Both injured men were taken to hospital.

The suspects reportedly fled on foot towards a white Volkswagen Golf. A balaclava and spent cartridge case were recovered at the scene.
