Serious Accident Leaves occupant Seriously
Serious injuries have been reported following a high-impact two-vehicle collision on the M4 Ruth First Highway between La Lucia and Umhlanga on Wednesday evening.
KZN VIP Emergency Medical Services, together with multiple other emergency service providers, responded following numerous reports of a loud impact in the area.
Upon arrival, emergency teams were met with absolute carnage, with both vehicles having sustained significant damage. Patients from both vehicles were assessed and found to have sustained serious injuries.
The injured were stabilised on scene before being rapidly transported to appropriate medical facilities for the further emergency care they required.
The roadway was obstructed for a period of time while emergency personnel worked on scene. Additional Metro Police resources were requested to assist with slowing approaching traffic and reducing the risk of a secondary collision.
The circumstances leading up to the crash cannot be confirmed at this stage.
