Orlando Pirates head coach Abdeslam Ouaddou was pleased with his side’s impressive 3-0 victory over Chippa United at Kings Park Stadium in Durban.

Buccaneers boss Abdeslam Ouaddou was pleased with his side’s emphatic 3-0 victory over Chippa United at Kings Park Stadium in Durban on Sunday afternoon.

Ezimnyama Ngenkani returned to winning ways in the Betway Premiership in convincing fashion, lifting them to the top of the league standings and seeing them leapfrog arch-rivals Kaizer Chiefs.

Goals from Gamphani Lungu, who was named Man of the Match, Lebone Seema and Daniel Msendami ensured Pirates secured all three points in style.

Speaking to the media in Durban after the final whistle, Ouaddou praised his players for their improved performance after the break and expressed his appreciation for the way they responded following the midweek draw against AmaZulu.

The Pirates mentor also took the opportunity to clarify his comments about some of his players after Wednesday’s result, explaining that he intended to provoke a psychological response and spark a reaction from the squad.

Ouaddou will now be hoping the commanding victory over Chippa marks the beginning of a positive run as the Buccaneers look to maintain their position at the summit.
