Allende confirms contract status at Sundowns

Mamelodi Sundowns midfielder Marcelo Allende insists he is only focused on his job at the club despite the wave of uncertainty around his future.

The Chilean signed a three-plus-two deal when he joined from Uruguayan club Montevideo City Torque on a big-money transfer in July 2022.

He has been solid in midfield, averaging a remarkable 44 games per season, giving the club full value.

With his contract running up in June next year, keeping him at Chloorkop will come with a heavy price, with options in Mexico and the MLS to be considered by his handlers.

“I’m focused on my last year here at the club, and I haven’t spoken to anyone (about the contract),” says Allende, who will also become eligible for permanent residence next season.

“If not, I will always support my teammates because that is important so that we bring good things to the club,” says Allende.
