Police Officer Critically Injured, Two others injured in Durban CBD Crash

Just before 11:30am on Sunday Morning ALS Paramedics responded to numerous calls of Medical assistance needed at the corner of Stalwart Simelane St and Sandile Thusi Road (Stanger St and Argyle Rd) for a serious crash involving a motorcycle and a vehicle.

Paramedics arrived on the scene to find chaos as the scene was spread out. A Police Officer on a Motorcycle and a light motor vehicle had collided in the intersection. Paramedics immediately requested more resources and began stabilizing the injured. The Police Officer a female believed to be in her thirties had sustained serious injuries and Advanced Life Support Paramedics worked to stabilize her on the scene before rushing her to a nearby Hospital for the further care that she required. Two occupants from the vehicle had sustained moderate injuries and were also stabilized on scene before being transported to a nearby Hospital.

At this stage the events leading up to the crash is unknown however SAPS and Metro Police were in attendance and will be investigating further.
