Bucs Youngsters All Set For Euro Trip

Orlando Pirates’ DStv Diski Challenge players will test themselves against clubs in the Netherlands, as confirmed by the PSL.
After winning the DDC last season, ahead of title rivals Mamelodi Sundowns, the young Buccaneers are travelling to the Netherlands for the Winners Tour this evening and will return to the country on the 23rd of this month.
Pirates will play their first game on Tuesday against SBV Vitesse Arnhem at Papendal Complex. Vitesse, a club that former Bafana Bafana midfielder Thulani Serero played for previously, are renowned for producing some top young talent.
Two days later, Pirates will face De Graafschap at the Bezelhorst training complex in Doetinchem. The under-21s of De Graafschap are the current champions of the KNVB Dutch Cup, meaning they will give Pirates a good test.

On August 22, Pirates’ tour leads them to Rotterdam for a mini-tournament at Robey Academy. They will take on Sparta Rotterdam and Japan’s Yamanashi Gakuin High School.
The youngsters will also get an opportunity to watch a live Dutch Eredivisie match at the Johan Cruijff Arena in Amsterdam on August 16. They will watch another live Eredivisie match in Rotterdam on August 22 before returning home the following day.
