Prominent Lekompo musician Lehlogonolo “Shebe Maburna” Chauke is expected to continue applying for bail, based on new facts at the Polokwane Magistrate’s Court in Limpopo on Monday morning.

Shebe Maburna will be on the witness stand for cross-examination by the state prosecutor, Advocate Kgaugelo Lekoloane.

Maburna had applied for bail in July, stating that he needed specialised surgery on his right leg that sustained an injury during a car crash.

His application was previously denied by the magistrates court and dismissed at the High Court on appeal.

During the previous court hearing, Maburna’s lawyer told the court that he is being framed in the incident that led to his arrest.

Maburna’s lawyer told the court that there is no video footage on the case docket that proves that he was on the scene or that he committed the crime.

He is facing 21 charges, including four counts of attempted murder, assault and malicious damage to property, among others.
