Watch: EFF leader Julius Malema wants Zimbabwe billed
Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) leader Julius Malema has suggested that the Zimbabwean government should be billed for the costs associated with the influx of Zimbabwean nationals into South Africa.
The EFF leader says the South African government should send a bill to the Zimbabwean government for the services provided to its citizens who have crossed the border into South Africa.
Malema made these remarks during a recent public address, arguing that the strain on South African public services, such as healthcare and education, is exacerbated by the high number of undocumented migrants from the neighboring country.
He emphasized that the Zimbabwean government has a responsibility to its own people and should be held accountable for the socio-economic pressures felt by South African municipalities.
The EFF has consistently taken a hard line on immigration, often calling for stricter border controls and the deportation of those who are in the country illegally, while simultaneously advocating for pan-African unity.
