ANC President Ramaphosa addresses political killings ahead of local elections
ANC President Cyril Ramaphosa has addressed the recent surge in political violence, expressing deep concern over the killings of party members and supporters ahead of the upcoming local government elections.
Speaking on the campaign trail, Ramaphosa condemned the attacks, which have claimed multiple lives in provinces including Gauteng and KwaZulu-Natal. He emphasized that those targeted were simply exercising their democratic right to participate in political life.
On the political killings, we are obviously all disturbed about the political killings that are targeting people who are either campaigning or representatives who should be elected.
The President assured the public that law enforcement authorities are actively pursuing the perpetrators behind these deadly incidents. He further called on all political parties to implore their members to refrain from violence and to ensure that the electoral process remains peaceful and fair.
