Water crisis: What the ANC, DA, EFF and MK party promise ahead of the 4 November local elections

With less than a month before the 4 November elections, major South African parties including the ANC, DA, EFF, and MK Party have outlined differing strategies to address the severe water crisis.

The MK party’s manifesto framed water as a matter of state ownership.

The party also promised to reverse what it called a bias towards private capital.

Reverse the policies that seek to privilege private capital at the expense of the state in the provision of water infrastructure.
