THREE SUSPECTED CIT ROBBERS FATALLY WOUNDED IN KRANSKOP

Three suspects wanted for violent crimes in KwaZulu-Natal were fatally wounded in a shootout with police in the Mambulu area of Kranskop during the early hours of this morning.

Police, acting on intelligence, located the suspects at a residence where a shootout broke out. Three suspects were killed and firearms were recovered.

The suspects are believed to be linked to a cash-in-transit (CIT) robbery in Kranskop CBD on 13 April 2026, during which shots were also fired at a police station.

One suspect was reportedly injured when the CIT vehicle exploded and was later found dead inside an abandoned vehicle in Nkandla.

Police are continuing the search for additional suspects who escaped and are believed to be armed, including at least one rifle.
