BREAKING: Two Sisters Killed Their Mother for R80,000 Insurance Payout
Two sisters have appeared in the Mbombela High Court after being accused of allegedly murdering their 62-year-old mother in a plot to claim an R80,000 insurance payout.
The State alleges they lured their mother to a house in Barberton, where she was kidnapped, assaulted, raped and strangled to death with the help of accomplices. Prosecutors say the suspects then placed her body on a railway line to make it appear she had died in a train accident so they could claim the accidental death benefit from her insurance policy.
The alleged plan was foiled when a passerby spotted the body before a train arrived and alerted authorities. The case is continuing in the Mbombela High Court, and the accused remain innocent unless proven guilty in court.
