Mbuyiseni Ndlozi Celebrates Podcast Milestone, Mzansi Credits Julius Malema
Former EFF MP Mbuyiseni Ndlozi has a major reason to celebrate, after his African Renaissance Podcast crossed the 100,000-subscriber mark in less than ten months of operation.
Ndlozi announced the achievement on his X page on 17 August 2026, dedicating the moment to his loyal listeners.
This milestone was reached in less than 10 months.
The announcement was met with both celebration and debate online. Several commentators credited EFF leader Julius Malema’s endorsement as the real driver behind the subscriber boom.
Malema had publicly backed Ndlozi’s platform, arguing that it offered substantive political conversations rather than pure entertainment.
He also took the opportunity to criticise MacG’s Podcast and Chill, accusing it of promoting an alcohol culture and actively depoliticising South African youth, while suggesting that Ndlozi’s show was where listeners could genuinely learn something of value.

That Julius Malema positive statement about it was very important. You must host him one of these good days.

But you know it all happened after CIC directed us to you. If you don’t believe it, just wait and watch all other podcasts that he says people must not watch; they are all going down. Look at Mpofu’s son; he’s struggling. Once CIC gives signals, the whole nation follows; thank him first.

@Julius_S_Malema marketed your podcast in one statement.
Others, though, congratulated Ndlozi more straightforwardly, praising him and his team for building something meaningful in a relatively short space of time.
The mixed bag of responses reflects both genuine admiration for the platform’s growth and scepticism about the content itself.
