Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) leader Julius Malema and Democratic Alliance (DA) leader Geordin Hill-Lewis engaged in a heated exchange during a leadership debate organized by Arena Holdings, where corruption allegations and racial tensions took center stage.

Malema vehemently rejected claims that the EFF is involved in corrupt activities, challenging his political opponents to produce concrete evidence. He asserted that since the inception of the EFF, no member or leader of the party has been convicted or charged with corruption related to holding public office.

Malema argued that the accusations of corruption leveled against his party are merely a smokescreen used by the DA to mask underlying racial prejudices.

In response, Geordin Hill-Lewis accused the EFF of actively destabilizing municipal coalitions and engaging in various forms of misconduct. The debate highlighted the deepening divide between the two parties as they sparred over governance, integrity, and the political future of South Africa.
