Malema Apologises to Judge Matojane – South African News Briefs – September 30, 2026
Economic Freedom Fighters leader Julius Malema has formally apologised to Supreme Court of Appeal Judge Keoagile Matojane for his conduct during a 2021 Judicial Service Commission (JSC) interview.
The apology, delivered in his home language, follows a long-standing directive from Parliament’s Powers and Privileges Committee after it was found that Malema breached the Code of Ethical Conduct by aggressively questioning the judge regarding a previous ruling against the EFF.
Honourable Malema, in vernacular, in his home language, which is a South African language, has given an apology as it was required.
National Assembly Speaker Thoko Didiza confirmed the apology was tendered on the eve of the September 30 deadline, effectively concluding a matter that had persisted for nearly five years.
