President Cyril Ramaphosa has firmly rejected claims of a ‘white genocide’ in South Africa, describing such narratives as false and harmful to the nation’s social cohesion.

The notion of a ‘white genocide’ is a fabrication that seeks to sow division and undermine the democratic progress we have made as a country.

Addressing the issue of inflammatory rhetoric, the President warned against the use of language that glorifies killing, specifically referencing controversial political chants. He emphasized that while freedom of speech is protected by the constitution, it does not extend to incitement of violence or the promotion of hatred against any specific group.

Ramaphosa reiterated his government’s commitment to the safety of all citizens, regardless of race, and called for a national dialogue focused on reconciliation and unity rather than the amplification of divisive and unfounded claims.
