The African National Congress (ANC) has launched a scathing attack on Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) leader Julius Malema, accusing him of undermining the decorum of Parliament through his conduct and rhetoric.

In a statement released on Tuesday, the ruling party expressed deep concern over what it described as the “unbecoming behaviour” of the EFF leader, which it claims is eroding the dignity of the legislative institution.

The ANC calls on all members of Parliament to uphold the highest standards of conduct and to respect the rules and procedures that govern our democratic processes. Mr. Malema’s persistent disregard for these norms is a direct affront to the people of South Africa who look to this house for leadership and decorum.

The ANC’s criticism follows recent heated exchanges in the National Assembly, where Malema and his party members have frequently clashed with presiding officers and other members of the house.

The party further stated that it would be engaging with the Speaker of the National Assembly to ensure that measures are taken to address the “continued disruption” of parliamentary proceedings.
